Its Usability and not being funky

I stumbled upon this talk by Azo Raskin at Google Talks.
A must watch if you are involved with writing computer softwares and expects people to use it.

I didnt like the talk that much. Reasons -
#1)Some of the examples he gave were -ve. He took a good page, and showed how they can be screwed up. He should have taken up some screwed up pages, and should have improved them using the techniques that he talked about.

#2) He talked about infinite scroll in search results - I tried that - it sucks. In search you iterate - you do a query, browse first 1-2 pages, and if you dont find the results, modify ur query and start again. With infinte scroll you miss this aspect of when to refine your query. Also the ctrl-F concerns raised by audience are valid.

Overall I found it lacklustre - esp. cuz of #1 above. Could have been much better and insightful.
